Exhumed from the Blender.com vaults, this clip was filmed at the Garage in Los Angeles when a documentary filmmaker, on assignment in the club’s main room, stumbled onto the behemoth burning up (and hosing down) the acoustic side stage. Part performance art, part punk rock, part incontinence, this happy ending from the king of King impersonators prompted one staffer to dub him “the best show I’ve seen since I last showered with Ricky Martin.”
Big UPS to Brian Berkowitz for shooting a GREAT VIDEO!!!
So the word on the subway is Jay-Z may leave Def Jam and start up a new label with his main squeeze, Beyonce. Do we have your attention?
New Label??? Where? Well, the answer is possibly Apple iTunes. With Jay’s contract with Def Jam nearing it’s expiration date and Beyonce most likely finishing up her album commitment with Sony by the end of the year. This could be good timing…
Keep in mind if Jay leaves Def Jam he has the option of taking all the artists he signed…(laughing) his other girlfriend: Rihanna, Ne-Yo (ghost writer to the max), Rick Ross, Kanye (um do we need to continue), and Nas (CLASSIC). Not to mention Beyonce being done with her deal can also be an artist.

Winehouse Set For Advertising Campaign
Posted By Rachel Cohen On 7th June 2007 @ 08:13 In Music, Celebrity
Drink companies in Japan as well as the USA and UK are looking to snap up jazz songstress Amy Winehouse to front advertising campaigns, on TV, billboards and print.
The north London smoky-voiced singer is said to be on a list of celebrities set to be courted by three global drink firms.
According to an insider, Winehouse could make up to £2m if she chooses to endorse a drink company and its alcohol range.
“Amy’s distinctive voice stands out and the advertising departments of these companies are looking for famous people with something …

Rihanna on being a “bad” girl: I got all painted in silver, almost butt naked (she whispers). That was one of the scenes in the video. I felt liberated. I felt free and I felt like I was a “good girl gone bad.” It was a pretty cool thing to do. I never thought that in a million years I would paint myself up to my nostrils in silver and do a video. It was fantastic. It was one of my favorite scenes in the entire video.” Read the interview with Giant Magazine here.

British artist, Damien Hirst, has taken the 18th century skull of a 35-year-old man and covered it in 8,601 pave-set diamonds. The work is currently being shown at The White Cube gallery in London. The piece cost an estimated $28 million to create.
It will go on sale for a staggering $100 million and if it sells it will become the most expensive piece of art sold by a living artist.

It is not very often I find a band worth seeing playing at Bogart’s in Cincinnati. But when I heard the Kings Of Leon were performing, one of my favorite bands, I knew I needed to go. Me being the procrastinator that I am decided to wait until the last second to try and buy my tickets. This does not fly with the Kings of Leon, the show was sold out. Lines of about 100 people at both doors trying to get in before the opening band even came on. Luckily, I know a good person to know, one hour later I have tickets in my name at the box office. I was stoked.
I arrived about quarter til 10, right as The Kings graced their presence on the stage. They immediately started to rock the sold out crowd with their old and new songs. The place was packed, I had to squeeze by about a couple hundred people just to get halfway close to the front. But hey, its all in the the name of rock and roll. The band quickly played one good song after another, the crowd was going crazy throughout all of this. Just as a rock concert should be. People jumping up and down, hands up in the air, chanting lyrics, clapping….you get the point. I heard so many songs I liked, their whole set list was good. I was able to hear a lot of my favorites, Molly’s Chambers, Bucket, King of The Rodeo, 4 kicks, and their new hit On Call.
The great thing about the Kings Of Leon is they sound great live. The sound quality is good at Bogart’s, but defiantly not the best. Still, the Kings sound just like their record. Which is always a great thing to have when watching a show.
I would suggest this band to anybody, it is hard not to like them. I am so glad I finally was able to see them live. The Kings Of Leon put on a kick ass show.
Expect video soon…
